About Kate
Background and Vision
Kate Gardner has a passion to spread encouragement and human connection, especially around stewarding abundance. As a “Next-Gen” inheritor, she has close-up experience of wrestling with purpose, identity, and faith in the context of opportunity and resources. She seeks to mobilize a new generation of stewards, no matter their experience, resources, or time-limitations, to live their best lives in light of eternity.
Kate inherited significant personal finances at 21 years old, and soon after felt called to focus on cultivating a creative life of giving and impact. She earned her B.A. in English from Princeton University in 2016, and spent a season working in the Christian ministry space.
Her resources opened up many amazing possibilities, while also creating unique complexities to personally navigate. Through highs and lows in the journey, she developed vision and grit to pioneer a unique vocational path of service alongside holistic financial independence. Profound experiences with philanthropy and prayer led her to catalyze what she first called her Greenhouse Group, a personal ministry that supports over 60 missions teams, a handful of organizations, and many women of God in pursuing their dreams. She loves seeing generosity holistically, not only with finances, but also extending to avenues like hospitality, spirituality, and media.
After sensing a call to use her inheritance story, she has stepped up publicly to seek to bring empathy and encouragement to those who feel the weight of finances or legacy. She has built out a community called Magnify for fellow Christian inheritors seeking to empower each other in wisdom and growth. She co-hosted a podcast called Ascendants, interviewing inspiring Next-Gen inheritors, as well as co-authored a book with a stewardship framework for families entitled Becoming Ascendants. Most recently, she also developed her personal boutique single family office, Kinveris, with practical strategy that creatively aligns her faith with her finances.
Kate delights in imparting hope and joy to those who want to live out the scripture: "to whom much is given, much is required" (Luke 12:48). Her unique personal narrative, empathy, as well as contagious passion and sharp communication allow her to shine light into families, wealth management practices, philanthropic organizations, and people from any background who long to live in alignment with their values.
A Short History
Inheritance
Kate's parents entrusted resources to her at 21-years-old. Because of her Dad's investing acumen, and a generational story of stewardship, she stepped into her own personal financial decision making.
Tithing
Kate sought to consecrate her capital to God by giving more than a tenth of the original inheritance value away to various charities. This was both an act of what felt like spiritual obedience, as well as what led to an unlocking of the great joy she feels in stewarding resources for good purposes.
Philanthropy
Kate then built her own ministry of giving by partnering with 60 missionaries through a donor-advised-fund offering philanthropic and spiritual support. She originally called this initiative Greenhouse Group: www.greenhousegroup.org
Investing
Kate also wanted to align all of her for-profit resources with her faith and vision. She put together what she calls a "mini single family office" initiative called Kinveris: www.kinveris.com
Media
And as another way to make impact, Kate shares her story and reflections on walking with wealth through speaking, podcasts, books, and more. See Media page for these resources.
